How many of the board members use transit on a regular basis?

At least one in Mark Toro, but probably not many.

But, to be fair, our transit is nearly unusable for most of the region, and most commutes and trips. If and where it even exists.

One thing that passengers may notice, however, is a new brand: starting next year, trains and buses will be branded in some way with a new not-yet-designed logo designating them as part of “The ATL.”
Just like I have said in the past, it will most likely just be minor branding. Similar to MTA's brand on NYC Subway, Buses, LIRR, Metro-North, Staten Island Railroad

My main current issue with all this The ATL stuff (which I have greatly supported), is with Gwinnett potentially about to join MARTA in a couple months.

Cobb and Gwinnett simply joining MARTA would have solved this whole regional mindset issue and created the seamlessness.

And Gwinnett joining MARTA would have put even more heavy pressure on Cobb to do the same.

The ATL is a way for state republicans to pat themselves on the back and show that they support transit in Metro Atlanta and get reelected.

The transit will get state funding too right?

Federal maybe?

No state funding. Each County still must opt into funding transit. ATL is just a coordinating and planning authority.

The only real benefit here is that outer counties can do long-term transit funding similar to MARTA. This should have been allowed for a long time, and it would be nice if GRTA could take up acting as the primary operator for outer county systems, complementing MARTA in the core.
