The appearance of the logo is almost as insignificant as the impact that this "ATL" charade will have on transit in this region.

Um, we don't really know that, yet. The agency has existed for all of 3 weeks, so let's see what all happens in 3 years before judging its impact.

There was $0 dedicated state funding in the law.

But that might get added back in this legislative session. I've heard talk of the Uber tax coming up again.

And regardless, the ATL can potentially have a large and positive impact even without new funding. Just with all the various legal changes and the powers given to it.

Taxing just Uber is stupid. Stop taxing alternatives to cars. Last week they added huge fees / taxes on scooters now they are trying to tax car sharing.

How about just take some of the subsidies away from cars as a whole and redirect those to alternatives if they want. People like market based transportation alternatives stop trying to tax / regulate them out of business like they did with private streetcars decades ago.

Just up the state base sales tax by one penny, towards transit for the whole state. To be spent proportional in each region according to the tax collected in each region (Metro Atlanta is one of the state's regions, with by far the most tax revenue.)

Good luck getting than past Bubba in South Georgia. That is exactly the same thing as MARTA, TSPLOST, and ATL; counties/jurisdictions have to opt into the system, causing disconnected transit networks.

ATL is really funding transit in metro Atlanta.
Quote:
The Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (the ATL for short) recently paid about $305,000 to renovate a room to host its board meetings. The room cost taxpayers $183,925, with the agency’s landlord paying the remainder.
Now GA Senators are cutting it's funding.
Quote:
This week the Senate Appropriations Committee cut about $329,000 from the ATL’s budget request for the remainder of the 2019 fiscal year. The full Senate approved the amended 2019 state budget Thursday.

It was Atlanta and North Georgia where the TSPLOSTs failed the worst. It passed in Columbus and a couple other regions.
