The wide one eway streets kill the potential for pedestrian activity. The incredibly wide one way streets here are ridiculous.

Back in April it grew to 500 bikes and 60 stations. Last I'd heard they were blowing usage projections out of the water, but I can't find any recent numbers.

I know that I see them all over the place when I'm in town. Granted that I'm out around the Eastside Trail and Piedmont Park, so that's likely skewing things, but they do seem to get well used.

Progress since City Council adoption of Master Plan in December 2017.
Quote:
CAP/ADID received grant funding from the Atlanta Regional Commission to do a study on Transportation Demand Management (TDM) policies that can move the needle on how people commute. The study kicked off in June. We've been looking at best practices around the country to see how our peer cities are addressing this issue. We've created a Steering Committee comprised of CAP/ADID, the City of Atlanta, Livable Buckhead, and Midtown Alliance, and also a Task Force that represents employers, transit providers, parking operators, developers, and policy wonks, to ensure that this study produces recommendations that are feasible and impactful. The study should wrap up in early 2019.

CAP/ADID worked with key stakeholders to develop the Special Events Playbook, which is currently being used to manage special event traffic. CAP/ADID has established permitting and operations committees to plan and coordinate high attendance special events Downtown. The committees are in their infancy and growing daily in an attempt to collaborate with partner organizations and efficiently utilize organizational resources. As the committees mature, we anticipate establishing a web-based format which will be made available to all of the Downtown community as a transportation awareness tool.

CAP/ADID has been collaborating with developer Newport USRE as they imagine how to redesign Broad Street SW as a shared street. The development of conceptual engineering and design plans are underway now so that the improvements can advance concurrent with the restoration and activation of the adjacent buildings over the next few years

The Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC), the PATH Foundation and the City of Atlanta are collaborating to design a separated bike facility that will connect the Luckie St PATH to the Portman PATH. This project will be constructed in tandem with the ongoing renovation project at Centennial Olympic Park and is expected to open in December 2018.

CAP/ADID, in collaboration with the City of Atlanta, has been collecting data and talking with stakeholders regarding the conversion of Baker Street from one-way to two-way. Preliminary engineering is ongoing and the project team is scheduled to implement the project in early 2019.

The 10-year old wayfinding system is being reviewed for content accuracy, responding to user feedback and outstanding maintenance. We expect to make changes in the content specific to out-dated destination signage this Fall 2018. Further updates will be considered in 2019 (budget pending).

The Nelson Street bridge is slated for rehabilitation as part of the renovation of 99-125 Spring Street project. No word on when exactly it will happen, but the developer has indicated that the bridge rehab will be a part of the larger redevelopment project.

Awesome. Bring on the transportation alternatives! Driving in downtown (and most places in the metro) sucks.

Nah...mostly just downtown and the east side areas (anywhere VaHi and south). I have very few problems elsewhere.

You have constantly complained about the growing traffic congestion in NW Atlanta and how every other vehicle is a dump truck.
