Suggest a hotel.(please) (Atlanta, Lenox: good hotels, shopping mall, airport)

Need to fly into Atlanta at the end of the month. Looking for a hotel near the French embassy. Walking distance would be great. Its located at 3300 Lenox Road or 3399 Peachtree Road, NE

Never been in there before, and I sure could use a recommendation. Thanks so much

There are really so many hotels there within walking distance.

The Marriott is right across the street. There's also a Westin right there (formerly a Swissotel). Then there's the Intercontinental on Peachtree which would be a short walk. Mandarin Oriental, W, Ritz-Carlton.

There's also a Doubletree and Courtyard if your budget doesn't allow the former.

And if you don't mind a 5 minute car ride....there's a St. Regis a mile or two down the street. Really, probably the highest concentration of good hotels in the entire city!

The J.W. Marriott is an excellent hotel that is literally in the same complex. You don't even have to walk outside.

The complex (Lenox Square) is a major mixed used center with offices, hotel, shopping, dining, etc. It's directly across the street from the Lenox train station with direct access to the airport and other major destinations in the city.

Personally I'd stay at the Marriott for the convenience. However, as mentioned by ATLTJL there are many other first rate hotels nearby.

Just make sure to select the JW Marriott that is part of Lenox, as arjay indicated. There's another, older (but probably also cheaper) Marriott right across the street. Make sure to get the one you intend if you book a Mariott!

ATLJTL makes some excellent suggestions for hotels that are near the location in question.

One particular hotel worth looking into (if it is within your budget), as arjay recommended, is the J.W. Marriott Atlanta Buckhead hotel, which appears to be in same the exact development/complex where the French Embassy is located.

The JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead is located in the high-rise building/tower on the south side of the complex and the French Embassy is located in the high-rise building/tower on the north side of the complex.

It appears to be possible to walk from the JW Marriott to the French embassy without even going outside as the hotel appears to be connected to the building/tower that the embassy is in.

Also of note is that the both of the towers in the high-rise development where the JW Marriott hotel and the French Embassy are located are connected to the very-upscale Lenox Square Mall, which is one of the most-popular and most high-profile enclosed regional shopping malls in the Southeastern U.S.

It's not that different from 1987. New buildings for sure but it'll still look familiar.
