More housing makes sense. This area should be ultra dense considering it's location to future transit. Almost everything near the Beltline that isn't developed should be dense. That keeps pricing reasonable and cars off the road. Gotta take care of that inevitable growth

The area is not lacking for green space, but it is lacking in dense developments fitting for the trail, as well as the future transit slated for the area.
I would do what someone stated earlier: extend N. Angier Ave from North Avenue through Ralph McGill (even though Angier also goes to Glen Iris). Then, on the park side of Angier, I'd expand the park, maybe with some sports fields or other type of recreational area, with the south edge bordering the current southern edge of the GA Power parking lot. In the long strip between Angier and the Beltline, from North to McGill, a long series of apartments/condos, and some fronting along McGill as well. Having some other mixed use in there would be nice, but not something to the level of Atlantic Station.

There is a large sports field 1/4 mile south along the EST and the lawn area in the existing H4W Park for recreational areas. What this area and Parks Dept. does not need is more sports fields to maintain.

I just meant some open field areas like there are in Piedmont Park. Nothing more than mowing the grass required. It would be big enough for festivals, concerts, and many other uses. And this would be right next to all the other amenities of the park and the residential developments, instead of more than a quarter mile down the path next to a skate park. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing the field and skate park down there, but I think a larger open field area next to the rest of the main park (which serves more people) would be a great addition.

Don't worry, there's still plenty of leftover space for ultra-dense, human-scale, urban-fabric, mixed-use, no-curb-cut, non-car-sewer, pedestrian-friendly, complete-street, development. And cafes. Did I forget any adjectives?

I'd be surprised if the Parks Dept. does much maintenance work on the O4W park.

Ga Power could use the proceeds from the land sale towards the line item Nuclear Construction Cost Recovery on our electric bills for Plant Vogtle cost overuns. Instead the proceeds will likely go toward adding shareholder value.

At Beltline’s Eastside Trail, Georgia Power gets serious about selling key property
73 - Bids are due May 24 for 10 acres of mostly asphalt beside vibrant park, Beltline

At long last, Georgia Power is getting serious about selling (or at least possibly selling) the company’s buzzkill 10 acres of mostly surface lots beside lovely, functional Historic Fourth Ward Park.

Marketers have opened the bidding process and launched a website for what’s currently being used as a Georgia Power operations center and marshaling yard—but happens to be one of the largest tracts not fully developed along the entire Beltline.

There is a rumor that a 200ft tall residential building is a part of the plan for this site.
