Other than that I don't know.
Hmmm, well, that's alright I suppose. Thanks Arjay.

Hopefully the GDOT will get all that straightened out.
The GDOT recommendation included the bike lanes but sounds like they are going to get removed because of the pushback from people like Norwood.

Seems like GDOT would have stuck to its guns if they really believed in this. I remember going to some of those meetings and telling the GDOT guys to do exactly that -- don't be afraid to take a stand just because some people complain.

The politicians ultimately decide who keeps their job at GDOT. People at GDOT know all to well they need to bend to politics if they want to stick around. It does the "other way" too. Like the mayor of Avondale getting GDOT to reverse course and allow bike lanes on 278.

You are probably right, jsvh. Personally I didn't have strong feelings on the Peachtree bike lanes. It's unlikely they would get much use but if a handful of hardy souls want to venture out on their bicycles let them have their way.

They do need a center turn lane up there.

Peachtree Rd already gets much use from cyclists, as it is better than Piedmont or using the neighborhood streets. Stripped bike lanes would give the cyclists their own lane, instead of them taking an entire lane of vehicle traffic.

Looks like I can't support Peter Alan now since he doesn't support a downtown casino

Yet another reason he is still a favorite for me. But he doesn't seem to have the name recognition yet, so I am not sure how well he will do unless he addresses that.

I also think Cathy Woolard deserves a lot of credit for being an early sponsor of the Atlanta Beltline.

I agree. We've got several good candidates in this race.

Casinos are a disaster. I went to the one in Ft Lauderdale and it was one of the most depressing places I have ever been too.
