There are MANY lovely, tree shaded, and friendly neighborhoods in Southwest Atlanta, many quite affluent, too: Cascade Heights, Beecher Hills, Niskey Lake, Gullford Forest, West Manor, etc. I will admit many of these are not under $200,000, either. Try some of these tranquil Clayton County cities that do fall well under $200,000: City of Lake City, City of Morrow, Historical Jonesboro, etc.

Yes, this and "House Hunters" also.

Aren't a lot of the Gwinnett County schools excellent? And with a pretty substantial Asian/Indian population?

There's a thread in the Ca forums now where the OP wants to live where the executives live. She wants a budget of less than 1.2 million and want's something comparable to their current house , 3500 square feet, custom built in Ma.

She got upset when people replied she basically is out of her league, but they were telling her the truth. Quite the wake up call.

They posted in towns where execs live
here's a 2/1 900 sq ft teardown for 1.9 million
http://sf.curbed.com/2017/2/20/14669...-teardown-home

here's a rundown 1923 teardown for 5.5 million
This tear down is what $5.5M buys you in Palo Alto - On The Block

She can get a house for 1.2 million, but it's where the middle class live in older tract homes generally less than 2500 sq ft.
My ex lives in a tract home about 1400 sq ft in Fremont and it's valued at just under 1 million. It is old and needs upgrading.
