I was watching videos of dead malls and I was wondering what would eventually happen to ours in the coming years. Here are some of my thoughts

Lenox/Phipps, Perimeter, and Mall of Georgia will still be strong and attract shoppers from all over the southeast for products they can't buy in their own areas.

Town Center and Arbor Place will do okay as outskirt malls

Southlake and Stonecrest (literally had a city named after it which is funny) will have somewhat of a resurgence but I believe that eventually they will slowly be refitted into outdoor "town center" like areas.

Greenbriar will close imo. There's really no reason for this mall to stay open and there are probably going to be better options for shopping nearby in East Point and West End. As far as the area goes, everything seems abandoned but a Greenbriar Town Center wouldn't be a bad idea with some new apartments along a new Campbellton Rd Streetcar line, and the actual mall property becoming mixed use.

West End will probably be turned into a local themed town center like shopping center, like a mini Krog St or PCM

Gwinnett Place will hopefully be redeveloped, but if not, it will close eventually because of better shopping options nearby

I don't know if Cumberland is doing bad but the area continues to grow so I can still see the mall succeeding

In my opinion in the future local chains probably won't survive due to online shopping but places like Ponce and Krog St will thrive. I think those centers are the model for future Atlanta malls
