This roof is such a boondoggle. From the beginning, I thought the overly complicated design was going to create all sorts of problems, and it doesn't even add all that much to the look/design of the stadium, IMO.

While I would take hockey in any stadium/arena, the views would be terrible. Those winter classic games only look good on TV. I wouldn't want to be that far from the ice

I'm still concerned about the angle of viewing for that video screen. It seems like if sitting in the lower half of the stadium you'd have to really look up to view the board.

The steel-framed roof, with its grand spans, long cantilevers, skewed connections and dynamic deflections, has been the most frustrating. “This is a one-of-a-kind building,” says Wayne Wadsworth, principal-in-charge for the general contractor, the Holder-Hunt-Russell-Moody Joint Venture (HHRM). “It is probably the most complex roof ever built—fixed or operable.”

The asymmetrical stadium’s main roof, which supports the operable cap, weighs 17,000 tons, is 70 ft deep, spans up to 723 ft and contains 850,000 bolts. It is framed by one of the world’s longest-spanning two-way truss systems.

Its a great experience. Im curious to see the Benz is set in MLS mode. Im glad the 71 seats will not be the norm. Empty seats look terrible on TV and I see ATLUTD being on TV quite a bit.

Um so a mile and a half or so makes all the difference to you?

They said it's easier for them. Debating whether it is or isn't, or whether the distance is worth it for you, will only derail the topic.
