Can anyone please tell me the realistic commute from Duluth to the Perimeter (husband's office is located on Abernathy)? My realtor claims there are no neighborhoods to look at in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area and I should look at Duluth. Her thoughts are that because all the neighborhoods in that area have existing homes plus tear downs with rebuilds, we would be in a no win situation. In her opinion, no neighborhood is a safe bet. Also, has anyone heard anything good/bad/indifferent regarding Notre Dame Academy? Thanks in advance!

What?? Is your realtor for real??? That's crazy talk. I live in Sandy Springs (just beyond the border with Dunwoody) and there are TONS of great neighborhoods. There are a couple of older neighborhoods that are going through the tear-down controversy (see a recent post on the Mill Glen neighborhood), but that is definitely the exception as opposed to the rule. If you want more info, PM me for names of specific neighborhoods to look at. What is your price range?

It depends on where in Duluth...it could take 15-20 minutes just to get away from your neighborhood. Knowing what I know, I would not choose to commute that far. Check your PM for some Sandy Springs info.

I would get a new realtor. That person clearly does not know what she is talking about. There are TONS of great, in-close neighborhoods to consider if your husband works in Dunwoody.
