That would be nice to have one nice water park near downtown maybe near the aquarium. I live in Tampa and yes I associate Atlanta as a major business destination.

I agree with this. My profile says I live in LA but I actually live in Atlanta now, and for our hot, humid summers here, we really need more than Six Flags to cool down. I know we have some public pools, but I would totally check into a hotel in the city or on the outskirts for their amazing pool! I am super jealous we don't have a single resort like the ones in Orlando that have lazy rivers and AMAZING, huge pools.

I'm also surprised we don't have at least one Las Vegas style hotel dayclub pool....would be a roadblock at weekends!

One thing I'm glad we do have a plethora of are free splash pads. When we visited family in Memphis, they had very few, and cost up to $12 per person...for a splash pad.

Oh, we have some absolutely gorgeous pools that are enjoyed by celebrities. But they are private, thank you very much. :-) The film industry has a mini-industry going on with movie stars who rent big ol' luxury homes with sweet pools, etc. for 3-6 months, often multi-million $ homes that have been on the market for a while and the sellers are not adverse to pocketing a little (*cough*) rental income for a short term.

We sort of used to for a short time at the former Melia Hotel on West Peachtree, now the co-branded Crown Plaza/Staybridge Suites.

Melia is based in Madrid, and they had a very cool lounge pool scene going on there that we need back - in multiple locations.
