It sounds obvious now, but wiping out the area was the approach Atlanta (and most other US cities) took towards "urban renewal" for the last ~50 years.

Anyway, I heard the number is actually 50 buildings... plus 4+ acres of parking lots which they intend to build new buildings on. This project is an even bigger deal for the future of the city than the Gulch project. And that one's huge.
I absolutely love how the city core is becoming less ghetto. Nice post.

Hotels in DOWNTOWN advise their guest not to go around UA. Hopefully once this is complete hopefully they will lift this rule

They don't have to. The homeless congregate there mainly because no one else does, and that's about to change.
