That it's generally warmer than where I'm from, during each season.
That its suburbs are akin to many smaller and midsized metros unto themselves. I can get all that I need without going far, and I can trek into the city (less than a half-hour away) when I so choose.
That it is much more inexpensive to live here, even more so than other mid-sized cities.
That there are trees everywhere (though Tennessee by far beats it in overall beauty).
That it is ultra-diverse, everywhere.

Bigger roads. Parking lots in Atlanta. Keep in mind we all have our own experiences and these are some of the first things that came to mind.

I see Atlanta as more of LA of east coast without the water.

I do like Atlanta for it's tree and and nature. I also lover the weather, job market(especially important coming from Connecticut which has been losing jobs since forever), affordability and major airport that makes getting anywhere from east coast to west coast very easy. Atlanta is growing and starting to get more diverse and you are starting to see some density and more walk able areas. Though until the region becomes committed to better transit system, besides adding more highways, Atlanta has a long way to go before it can be considered NYC of the South. I don't want to sound like a downer as I like Atlanta for what it is. It took quite a long time for it to grow on me and I might still move eventually but I have become comfortable living here and appreciate the good things that Atlanta does provide.

I agree.

Good luck on your interview! I took a trip down there and got 3 interviews out of the way. Got a job offer the very next day. Only thing keeping me in DC is the remainder of my two weeks notice. After that, I'm hitting the road Jack!

I mean, I'm NOT prejudice, but there's just things about the culture I don't understand and probably never will. That said, I have a diverse cultural group of friends in Atlanta. Interestingly, Atlanta has taken over as the gay capital of the U.S. I never had an issue with that because I viewed it as less competition for the beautiful women. I also had gay friends when I lived there. The point is, its a very diverse city, which I prefer.
Not to derail your point, but I promise: we're not all like that .

I know, I was trying to state it without sounding bad. Everyone is so sensitive these days. In all honesty, most of my best friends in Atlanta (and in general) are black. There's good and bad beople of all colors, but a fair amount of racial tension in Atlanta. But this isn't news to me. I hope to move back this year. May take a miracle, but I'm trying. I'd fit right in immediately and know exactly the places I'd go and things I'd do to meet people. It would be awesome if it happens.
