LOL sodas are poison. That goes for 'diet' sodas as well.

Nope. Not by themselves. However, I have seen many youngsters driving BMWs, going to Starbucks every day and doing lots of other expensive things that are, honestly, beyond their means. Folks think they have to have it all right now and do not appreciate the concept of frugality.

If Diet Coke is a poison, I'll just have to die from it!

I know, it's crazy! That never happened with younger people in prior generations!

Cities like Philadelphia passing ridiculous sugar taxes that are similar to taxes on cigarettes and alcohol, just because people assume sodas are just as bad.

So it has nothing to do with the ballooning cost of college going up over 1000% in the last 30 years. Young folks are just spending too much on "frivolous" stuff right?

Could it be both?

btw, $5 for a Starbucks 5 days a week is $1300 a year (before lost opportunity cost interest)

It's not both.

The cost of college has gone up exponentially compared to wages and inflation.

Millennials can eat rice and beans with nothing to drink but water and that wouldn't really make much of a dent in the long run if someone has the average student loan debt of about 37k.

The data is there so I am not sure why Boomers are can't seem to understand this and insist that everything is equal to the days you could pay for college working minimum wage in the summer.
