I have one that worked great at my Glenridge apartment, but not working worth a flip now. I'm on the wrong side of a hill or something in Vinings. Plus I guess a little further from where most of the stations are, over around Briarcliff. Might could look into a signal booster.

What I want to know is, when is my Google Fiber coming? I'm supposedly in the service area but it's not at my condos yet. Been eagerly waiting for that for years.

I think the YouTube TV option has a pretty sweet DVR service, which would help me make the choice to go with them. DVR is critical to watching TV these days. I cannot be subject to watch another pharma ad, I have no idea how people tolerate those and the political ones. BE GONE TV ADS

You should just need a bigger one or to adjust the direction. I'm in a valley just north of you (ie slightly further away from the stations and with a hill in the way) and we get a good signal. Then again, we have it mounted on our SFH roof so that might be the reason.

Half of the reason I cut the cord was to get out from under the thumb of ESPN et al. Why would I want to pay a monthly fee just to get squashed by them again?

Do the math - with the money you save from cutting the cord you can pick up a new hobby AND have the time to do it.

I've been wanting to try one of these services like Playstation Vue, SlingTV or the new Youtube streaming.

I have Comcast and was just looking at my bill in disgust. We pay $122 a month for "Blast Plus" - $95 for the package, $6 for an additional TV adapter, $10 for the internet modem, $7 for "Broadcast TV Fee" and then taxes. We also have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime.

I've seen Comcast advertising internet for $30 a month, not sure on the specific speeds, but I have been planning to look into it and dropping the cable. I really don't watch TV, most of the time I just have it on for background noise. When I do watch it I usually just watch TVLand or re-runs of something else.

Can anyone comment on the data usage of any of the streaming services? Comcast gives us just over 1TB of data to use per month.

I think that really depends on how much you watch. I used to have a 300 GB cap and I rarely went over it. But unless you have a bunch of people in your house and watch 4k content, 1 TB should cover you fine.

Luckily for me, my condo has Charter, who have no data cap. But on the flip side, it seems to be slower than Comcast. Unless you pay for the super expensive tier.

I really hate how Charter and Comcast never have to actually compete with each other, since each area only has one or the other (and it's like totally random.)

I want that Google Fiber, dammit.

Here! Here! Would love to have Google Fiber here but considering I am in the Augusta (Disgusta) area, I doubt that will happen in our lifetimes. Heck, people here are still pining for a Trader Joes..

One thing to keep in mind.. Will Google YouTube TV allow you to "Skip" the commercials on the DVR?

Other Streaming services have set it up so you can't fast forward thru the ads.

YouTube does it now on some video's

Oh, that's just offensive!

I would think if Comcast lets you do it (since they own NBC/Universal), anyone would. Are you sure that was DVR or just On Demand? On Demand will frequently not let you FF, but DVR should act like a recording that you can control.

BTW, I have unlimited data on Comcast and I don't pay for it. They gave it to us when GFiber threatened to enter the neighborhood
