It's an entry-level role requiring only 1 year of professional experience.

Urban planners with virtually no experience. Yup, sounds about right for Atlanta!

So the job is only open to millennials?? Isn't that discriminatory?

I said millennials because it's an entry-level role and seems like good experience for a recent college grad. Is it not safe to assume mid-career and senior level urban planners would not want to take a step backward??

The preferred qualification for this entry level job is 1-3 year experience. It probably means without 3 summers of intern and another 1-2 year after graduation, the applicant may be eliminated in the first round of selection.

I am tempted to throw my hat in the ring. While I don't have a planning degree per se I might still meet the qualifications.

I also live in the city. That isn't a requirement of the job but I know this place like the back of my hand.

arjay, you're hired!

But since you don't have the right degree, you're on the low end.

Enjoy your $40,000 salary.

I'll take it, ATLTJL! What I lack in formal education I will try to make up for in experience and innovation.

Maybe they can use me on the Emory negotiation team. That's going to take somebody who can think outside the box.
