Oh, and the other possibility for the Emory light rail, would be for it to become the NW Beltline light rail.

The eastside Beltline would have a different platform at Armour Station, oriented N/S, and that one would run down to Grant Park via an HRT infill connection at Krog St.

What is this big push for armour? The only things "converging" there are the LRT which goes up to Lindbergh anyways. Except for a stop on whatever LRT line it's on, it's a wasted stop that degrades overall service with Lindbergh literally right there.

Well there is no LRT right now, it's just a concept. But IMO a better plan for the Emory corridor LRT would be for it to stop in an E/W orientation at an Armour infill station, instead of have to turn right and head north to Lindbergh.

Again, this would accomplish multiple things:

1. Same LRT line could then potentially continue west, along the Beltline (at least temporarily)

2. The LRT station could be built from the ground up along with the HRT station, nicely integrating them as one, instead of tacking on some LRT platforms somewhere at Lindbergh

3. Commuter rail station could also be built into the same station under the same roof, as a true hub station. As opposed to at Lindbergh, where the railroad corridor is 500 ft down the street from the HRT platforms.

4. Armour would be right on the Beltline. Not only transit, that's awesome for pedestrians and cyclists.

I kind of agree. The Armour area is only a few hundred feet away. There should be ways to design it to just connect together with Lindbergh station kind of how the MMPT is designed to stretch over a few blocks to connect with Five Points MARTA.

What does the position of the railroad have to do with Armour? It's doubtful any station would be built at Lindbergh, which leaves Lenox (and Doraville, both are necessary), so stopping at Armour accomplishes nothing other than competing with LRT or local bus and adding yet another stop on the line to slow it down overall.

CRT would stop at Armour instead of Lenox. Allowing direct transfer to either north/south HRT line in either direction, direct transfer to Emory LRT line (and potentially that same line could also head west, maybe even to Cobb), and direct transfer to the Beltline LRT transit.

That's a whole ton more useful a CRT stop than Lenox would be. Plus, if you want to go to Lenox, you can just transfer at Doraville. Or Armour.

But if you want to go to Midtown (which a lot of people from Gwinnett will be headed), Armour is the perfect transfer point.
