Filling in the Lenox parking lots is a great idea. It really will transform the "mall" more into the character of an old-school urban shopping arcade:

The current exit has so many using it that it backs up 400, sometimes all the way to Sidney Marcus.

On the other hand, E. Paces Ferry is pretty close to the current exit and it might make things worse.

Yeah, adding more exists near each other makes weaving way worse and causes backups. Traffic flow will be better off without a new exit into Lenox mall.

It's funny that this came out today, as I started at my new job/company today, in a high rise in Buckhead, with some awesome views. And I walked around at lunch.

Buckhead should just continue on its path of becoming more urban in every sense. It's already made a lot of good ground on that in the last 10 years and in the next 10 years. The Buckhead Village area especially will be unrecognizable. Like an all-new high-rise district.

About to get some dinner and check out this vision and these PDF's! Woohoo, I love documents!

I wish East Paces Ferry connected seamlessly, as a major road, between Piedmont and Roxboro. With a bridge over 400, and a full bi-directional interchange.

A lot of lost potential connectivity and traffic relief, all for the sake of a few people in the Peachtree Park neighborhood. Nice houses and all, but kind of out of place, that close to all that activity.

I think someone on here actually said once those residents fought against East Paces crossing 400 because they didn't want people cutting through their neighborhood to get to Lenox. I don't know if that is true....but if so, nice job, because you cut yourselves off too!

I think they are pretty happy with it. They've got great access to the Lenox area and the Village, as well as 400, MARTA and major arterial roads. I'm glad they were able to hang on to their identity instead of getting washed away in the great development tsunami.

A very desirable area and houses go like hotcakes over there.

The pedestrian bridge was the compromise.

Besides the dumbness that is the East Paces Ferry Rd situation, there is so much potential to fix the grid and connect the roads and streets in that area, and it sounds like the Buckhead CID has a lot of the right ideas in mind. Like, straighten/fix Phipps Blvd @ Wieuca intersection, and have Phipps extend over to Peachtree Dunwoody. That would actually be huge.

And breaking up Lenox Square superblock with new cross streets, would be the best idea ever. Honestly I would go crazy with it, and break the mall up into smaller pieces, which would help the mall. I say transform both Lenox and Phipps into larger versions of the Shops at Buckhead Atlanta.
