Yeup. We still have a huge pent-up demand for people wanting to live in the city, with even more growth expected. Occupancy rates continue to trend up, and housing prices continue to rise faster than inflation.

We still need to grow more dense here within the city.

If we can connect those dense nodes, via high-quality transit, that would help reduce congestion.

Well, it wouldn't reduce congestion, but it would allow far more people in total to move through those corridors than can now, while offering an alternative to the congested roads.

Read in today's AJC that multi-family dwelling construction is sharply down this quarter inside of the city.

I hope the population growth slows down. Atlanta has too many people for too few roads and jobs we have here. I know this goes against the "I wish Atlanta had more people then London & New York City metros combined" crowd, but Atlanta as a metro really is over populated.

Can you actually point to any post that seriously advocates for such a thing?

If you're not growing, you're dying.

We've seen a ton of new apartments come to the market in the past few years. Some of it was pent up demand from the recession, when almost nothing was built.

But memories of overbuilding and collapse are not ancient history.

Growth in the core counties are out growing the outer countries.

Which means metro Atlanta is growing denser faster then it's sprawling now
On paper yes, but adding more cul de sacs isn't helping and that is happening.
