Southside would also have more logistics connections which is key for their business.

"Tens of thousands of high paying jobs"

Can you imagine how flush with cash the Metro would if that were true? The cost of living benefit would take a serious dive.

I dream of them moving to South Downtown or to the Summer Hill (GSU) development. I can dream right?

I dont think Atlanta will get it, but it would nice. No access to Water. With Amazon getting into the grocery business and so many foods being imported from South America plus Blue Origin's presence at Cape Canaveral, Miami would be ideal. Easy access to South America and Florida's Space Coast

Wow, I could just imagine a Midtown Atlanta announcement.

The Doraville site would be awesome with the nearby Marta station

For what it's worth, a few articles today have mentioned Atlanta's potential:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...q-2/640861001/

Which cities could be an option?

This new second headquarters will likely be well-situated within Amazon's increasingly sophisticated logistics and delivery system, which uses its own growing fleet of cargo planes along with its fulfillment centers.

Tougher immigration laws could make Canada more attractive for Amazon, says Jed Kolko, chief economist at job search site Indeed.

But affordable metro areas such as Detroit and Atlanta have more room for corporate expansions, he says. In Chicago, another affordable metro area, Mayor Rahm Emanuel has already pitched the city to Bezos, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
