The blocked lanes push cyclists on sidewalks. The sidewalks in Atlanta are incredibly narrow. We need more bike lanes as well is protecting the one's we have.
I agree, cyclists who do not follow the traffic laws should be ticketed as well. Although I do practice Idaho Stops, which is treating it as a yield, if there are no cars or pedestrians. But let's be honest, most drivers do the same thing.

I assume you're talking about stop signs, and not red lights?

Yes. Mind was going faster than my fingers. If there are no cars or pedestrians at a stop sign controlled intersection then I will treat it as a yield. That does not mean I fly at full speed thru it, but rather slow down still maintaining momentum, then pedal on.

I have no problem with that. Cyclists enjoy a better field of vision than cars anyway.

So true. Drivers don't know how to stop when lights are red. When the light is red, they keeping rolling. Stop signs appear to be merely suggestions.

Why can't we regular folks take it, too?

Thanks of this. Neat read.

But I can't help but notice that Westview, which we've had lengthy discussions about, has a daily ridership average of 6. While I'm not in any way supporting the removal of the track over there, you can see why people involved didn't see it as necessary.

I mean, the counter was installed in 2017, and the protected bike section was cut out mid 2017. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe putting a hole in the infrastructure had something of an effect on usage.
