Georgia, Southeast states likely to vie for Toyota-Mazda plant

Now I know the Amazon HQ2 has garnered a lot more attention than this plant, but I think it’s worth discussing. Toyota has been trying to open each of its plants into a new state to increase political influence. Southern states that do not have a Toyota manufacturing plant are Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, and the Carolinas. The southern states that do not have any auto manufacturing plant are Arkansas, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Georgia has a Kia plant and has a history of automobile manufacturing with Ford and GM. I don’t think there’d be a site cheap enough within the core counties of the Atlanta metro, but they could put in a more rural location of the state that is within feasible commuting distance of at least part of the metro (i.e. Kia has their plant close enough where people from Fayette and Coweta counties could commute). What do you guys think?
