That's a drag.

It's dangerous riding on the roads. Folks texting, talking on the phone, eating, ect.

No way I'd ride on the roads anymore.

The bicyclists should use flashing lights front and back too. It makes a huge difference in visibility. Had 3 guys riding out my way today. The guy in the back had a flashing red light on the back of his bike and the guy in the front had a flashing clear light on the front of his bike. It made a them stick out like a sore thumb.

RIP to the rider.

Made some decent improvements but just a reminder that we still need more protected bike space and calming for cars.

No, the flashing actually makes it harder. They should require offset lights, at least two, three would be ideal, like trains. After ditch lights were introduced, train-vehicle incidents went down dramatically because people could better gauge the actual distances. But I know at night, I hate the flashing bicycle lights since the stroboscopic effect makes it so much harder to gauge where they actually are in relation to me.

Better to be seen and give the driver some issues with depth perception trying to find a way around you, then not seeing you at all when they knock you in the ditch.

So sad. I go out of my way to give right of way to cyclists, they are the ones choosing to not clog up the roads or add to air pollution. Far too often l see pissed drivers tailgating them and blowing their horn.

I feel so bad for this cyclist and hope the driver is caught and punished.

I prefer the flashing. Out where I live is overrun with folks riding the country roads. The flashing light tells me that I've got bikes up ahead.

Too often folks ride in low light conditions with BLACK or GREEN cloths on. Not wise when you are on a 2 lane country road with no shoulders and a 55 mph speed limit(where folks do 70+ while pulling gooseneck trailers).

I always pass them by getting entirely in the opposing lane. I would love to join them but I won't even ride a motor sickle anymore. Too dangerous.

The news reports say the driver was fleeing from the cops.

And the vehicle looks like it still has dealer plates on it.

Bad guys in a stolen car on the run?

Lights are important with the end of Daylight Savings Time. There was a rider dressed in dark clothes with no reflector (or a dirty one) riding on North Decatur last week. Really hard to see and a busy road with no bike lane.
