I recently read that Atlanta Mayoral candidate, Cathy Woolard, doesn't seem to be spending her million dollar "war chest" even in the final days of the general election. In the days of "bad" polls, is she saving it for a "knockdown drag out" runoff? Do you think she has "internal polling" that makes her optimistic about making the run off? She does have considerable support in Midtown and many east side neighborhoods. (She is DEFINITELY winning the "sign contest" in Atlanta in Dekalb by my observations with Mary Norwood seemingly coming in a distant second), What do y'all think about the possibility of a Norwood/ Woolard or perhaps a Bottoms/ Woolard run off. Stranger things have happened.

We will find out soon, but I would love Woolard to make the runoff.

Woolard is my candidate, but I'm hoping for anything other than a Norwood/Bottoms run-off.

I hope you're right about Woolard making the runoff, but I don't know. I'm not expecting it, but I'd love to be surprised. I do know she's advertising constantly on TV thanks to a great fundraising haul.

I fear identity politics means Bottoms will win any runoff. That said, a Norwood Woolard runoff would be great as I wouldn't have to worry about a continuation of the Reed corruption through Bottoms.

I do hope you're right. Woolard is an impressive candidate.

Those would have to be some pretty awful polls. The most recent ones have her running a distant 4th (I think there may be some problems with the design of the poll questions—but not 14 points worth). Her best bet is low turnout. It does look like rain tomorrow. If the folks that prefer her are a lot more passionate about showing up at the polls than the folks that prefer the other candidates, maybe we will have a suprise.

"Awful polling" seems to be a political reality these days. ;0)

I am pretty sure most “awful polls” are within their margins of error. This would be triple that. But, 9 candidates in a low turnout election, could be interesting.

AJC had an article Sunday and had pictures and discussions of what they said were the top 8 candidates. Didn't even name the others. Thought that was irresponsible journalism.

The folks running my polling station says that turnout has been pretty heavy since they opened until the time I left at 9:00. It is a pretty strong Woolard district (Candler Park-Lake Claire)—so that’s good for her.
