Is this what passes for journalism these days? Didn't know clairvoyance was in their job description.
In order to understand the written word, sometimes you have to connect phrases. I've bolded the two phrases that you should have connected.

I have this tendency to vote on the individual actually running in the race rather than judging by party. Then again, I also believe that the party designation should be omitted from general election/runoff ballots.

Definitely an enthusiasm gap.

There were two Republican wins with 3,600 and 3,200 total votes for all candidates in those two districts.

These two Democratic wins had 7,500 and 7,900 total votes for all candidates.

There were two districts where the Republicans didn't run a candidate. One had 5,200 votes while the other had 10,600 votes.

Both parties are broken. Now we're back to picking the lesser of two evils.

You could use superpowers, or you could analyze data from the exit polls. Trump's approval rating with voters in VA yesterday was 40% (57% disapprove). 34% of voters said they voted to express opposition to Trump.

But yeah, it's probably just bad journalism. Stay the course, GOP!

Didn't need to be on the ballot. However, in some races [pretty much none of them in Georgia], Trump endorsed or campaigned for a candidate that lost.
