My husband and I are looking to move either East cobb vs Alpharetta/milton area. We have 2 small young children, 3 and 1 and we will be working near Woodstock/Canton area. We are looking for great public schools, lots of activities that are family friendly, a safe family friendly neighborhood and most importantly, diversity. We are an interracial couple, East Indian/caucasian and obv our children are mixed. We want to be around a diverse community that is accepting of interracial couples and where our kids can have other kids that can relate with them. Any input on which area would be a good fit would be much appreciated. any idea which area is more diverse? thx!

Why not Woodstock? I think that'd be great for you. There are a lot of great new subdivisions, a booming and quaint downtown. I don't think there are that many Indian families living there right now, but t's becoming more diverse and cosmopolitan by the day. Being close to dad's work and having your whole life in one area of the metro is very important for quality of life.

If you don't want to try Woodstock/Canton itself, then choose the next closest area. Both East Cobb and Alpharetta have good schools and a good many Indian families. Definitely plan around the commute time.

I think East Cobb offers what you're looking for, but I can't speak to how exactly it compares to Alpharetta/Milton for diversity.

We love east Cobb, and love that it's closer to buckhead, Roswell Canton st and Marietta square. Have kids roughly same age as yours.

Good luck!
