An hour at WalMart is confirmation enough.

People Of Walmart - Funny Pictures of People Shopping at Walmart : People Of Walmart

And here's the really good news: They vote.

So the City of Atlanta is supposed to implode Stone Mountain, which is:

- not in the city
- not owned by the city
- not in the same county
- is over 800 feet tall and 1.5 miles wide
- is surrounded by rides, has a hiking trail, a gondola system, and a laser show
- is going to be imploded in a couple days without any prior notice
- is announced via facebook and not by GA officials are or actual news
- is not manmade and would be be highly impractical to destroy

Absolutely hilarious reading the comments. People are stupid and will fall for anything without taking a pause and thinking "is this even possible?". Hilarious that the creator put "no blocked view from the Marta bus" lol. Of course that's the city of Atlanta's concern for spectators, right.

It's also important to note that this is the parody/troll CoA Facebook page, NOT the official one. I betcha that most of the commenters think it's the real deal though.

True lol, though just the fact that it's "city of Atlanta" should be enough to raise the flag, but...

It's both funny and painful that if you had facebook headlines saying:

"city of Atlanta to demolish Mall of Georgia"
"Atlanta to change the name of Coweta County to Fulton County 2"
"Kennesaw residents to pay for new city of Atlanta space shuttle launch pad"

people will be ready to share and complain without stop and saying "wait a minute..." Scary.

Nitpick- Atlanta is in the same county as Stone Mountain, not that it changes the hilarity of this.

True, almost 1/3...1/4 of The City of Atlanta IS "Atlanta in Dekalb" including the popular neighborhoods of Kirkwood, East Atlanta, Edgewood, East Lake, and even the City of Atlanta part of Druid Hills.

That's nowhere close to accurate. Roughly 10 percent of the city's incorporated area extends into DeKalb. Glance at any map and you can see with the naked eye that it's true.

I've always wondered how some people made it through high school. This isn’t just Atlanta, it's everywhere, at least in this country.

Since it is a solid block of granite and it calls for an implosion and not an explosion, I say this isn't fake news. It can be imploded several times a day and will look just like it does presently.

EDIT: I just reread my own comment and that sounds so much like a corny comment from my geeky GA Tech graduate brother, it is downright scary.

It would take some major exploding (or imploding) to affect old Stoney. That is one serious rock.
