Next year in 2018. I will propose to her, but I have not the slightest idea on a good spot to propose at. I would like for it to not be a restaurant. I want to invite her family down to Atlanta and propose at a spot that has a good view, stuff to see and more of a not so busy area that would make a good proposal spot. Any places come to mind? It can be in the LGBT section of town or have a LGBT theme since we are, but it doesn't have to be.

What time of year will you be proposing? Do you want it to be indoor or outdoor? Is noise a concern? Do you want a spot that you'll be able to return to 5, 10, 15 years down the line?

Piedmont Park has two bridges, one has a gazebo on it ( https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...dmont_Park.jpg )

There are also fountains, a lake with a dock, hillsides, large stone steps..... almost every feature there has a view of the midtown and downtown skyline.

There is also the Atlanta Botanical Gardens which are right next to the park

It will be around Spring/Summer time of year. I would prefer outdoors with an average to low amount of noise. It can be daytime or night and yes it would be cool to return their a few years after marriage. I didn't think about Piedmont Park, but Botanical Gardens did come to mind since we've had a date there for her birthday one year and even Stone Mountain.

The Peachtree Pine Shelter? What is that about? Why be jerky about a request for an engagement spot?

What about the top of Stone Mountain? You can see forever and it would be a fun day of activity on top of the proposal.

Another lesser know spot could be the bamboo "forest" at the end of the East Palisades trail along the Chattahoochee River in Sandy Springs/ Buckhead. A short 2 mile hike ends at a small, secret old bamboo forest right on the river's shore. It's pretty cool!

I second these two venues!

If you don't mind the drive, how about the top of Brasstown Bald (Georgia's highest peak)? The view is spectacular, to say the least.

I would add to this list Lullwater Park at Emory University.
