I've been waiting on details of this project for some time.

The same people who developed Avalon are behind Revel (pause to allow laughter over stupid name to die down)

But this project will have the benefit of Gwinnett Arena and a $70 million dollar convention hotel.

And THIS is what captured my attention the most:

Toro also said the Sugarloaf Community Improvement District is working on some projects to improve Sugarloaf Parkway. He expressed an interest in having a transit connection, even a MARTA station, at Revel as well.

They could probably do a BRT station there within a few years. Which is probably Gwinnett’s plan.

Or maybe LRT. But really any rail would take decades until opening, especially HRT. Definitely won’t be HRT in that corridor.

I don't know if I'd say that. I doubt Gwinnett voters would vote in any transit plan that didn't guarantee HRT for that corridor.

But I doubt they will get to vote for a plan with HRT. More likely they will get to vote yes or no for a transit plan that has no heavy rail extension in it, or maybe very little (not heavy rail to Sugarloaf). And they will probably vote yes, and that will be that.

I could be wrong. But probably not. Nash has not spoken favorably of HRT.

CRT could run to Buford and Lawrenceville within 5 years, and with ART/BRT between the two branches, adequately serve the corridor.

I will not vote for any mass transit that does not provide rail service to Gwinnett county. Period.

I think many voters agree with me. This is why I voted against T-SPLOST in 2012.

How is it a TOD? Ever city in the Atlanta metro will have an Atlantic station like development. Again, the lack of originality of this place...

No. Gwinnett doesn't have a real development like this. It would be good for Gwinnett to finally have a real Atlantic Station type development. Plus having transit would make it easier for the rest of Atlanta to visit this development. Just because there are other TOD's around the metro doesn't mean a county without one can't have one. That's like saying Gwinnett can't have a theater since Cobb and Atlanta already have one which doesn't make any sense

Not sure about that. They will have a station pretty close to it if they decide to be forward thinking adults about this

Avalon isn't a TOD. Atlantic Station isn't a TOD. This isn't a TOD. Where is the transit?
