Since moving here, we've been looking for a good Indian restaurant in west Cobb area near Town Center Mall, Barrett Pkwy, Dallas Hwy, or near the Square in Marietta. Anyone know of one in the area that has good Vindaloo and authentic Indian cuisine?

The closest one I know of kind of near those areas is in the Cumberland area: Swapna, 2655 Cobb Parkway. The food is pretty good.

Yeah, like West Cobb said, there's Swapna, and it's ok. Nothing great to look at, but the food is pretty comparable to most other Indian places. It's near the Taco Bell and Windy Ridge rd.

Swapna is pretty good, IMO.

If you want *really* authentic, and you like vegetarian, check out Vatica off of Terrell Mill Rd. They do only Thali plates, with a nice variety of dishes that are well spiced and not saturated with oil. And you can eat as much as you want.

(People say lunch there on M/Th is particularly good.)

I am from India and I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Metro Atlanta. Swapna is pretty good IMO. I haven't eaten at Vatica yet. I along with many other indians will attest that the best restaurant in Metro Atlanta used to Minerva on Old Milton Pkwy in Alpharetta. I heard the management ran into some trouble with either INS or the IRS. Nevertheless they had really good south indian spicy dishes. BTW, owner of Swapna is also a South Indian.

There's one off of the 120 loop called Haveli. I've been there once and it's pretty good. Never really aquired a taste for it, so I'm not sure what's considered good, but a friend of mine liked it.
