If you're staying at one of the aforementioned hotels, which cost about the same as the LAX Holiday Inn Express, and driving a Lamborghini, you're part of the problem. It'd be cool if these man-children went somewhere else to play make-believe mobster mogul millionaire.

I remember when the Grand Hyatt used to be the Hotel Nikko back in the '90's when Hip-Hop and Rock-and-Roll stars and their entourages would stay there when rolling through town on tour.

After it opened in the very early 1990's, the Hotel Nikko (now Grand Hyatt) was one of the hotels that there would be lots and lots of wild stories about because of how popular it was with Hip-Hop acts/groups and Rock bands. The hotel was so notable with Rap and Rock stars that it used to get casually mentioned on Rap and Rock records during that era.

Like you noted, those hotels still have plenty of wild tales coming out of them but those 1990's-era stories are vintage from the early days of when Atlanta was becoming an entertainment hotspot of national and international importance with a rising music scene and a hot nightclub scene.

LOL... Atlanta is that "somewhere else" for "man-children to play make-believe mobster mogul millionaire."

Because of its notable club scene (which really started getting noticed nationally back in the 1980's) and because of how many celebrities that increasingly live here, Atlanta is and has long been both a playground for actual celebrities and a magnet for celebrity wannabes from all over the country, including other heavily populated parts of the country like the Northeast, Florida, Texas, the Midwest/Great Lakes and the West Coast.

(...Heck, the popularity of the city's nightclub scene is one of the major reasons why LaFace Records became the first major record label to setup shop in Atlanta in 1989 and went on to make history producing such massive internationally-recognized Atlanta-based musical acts as TLC, OutKast and Usher.)

The dominance of the city's Hip-Hop music scene and the stunning rise of the city/metro to the position of the second-largest TV and Film Production center on the planet means that the city is going to continue to be a playground for celebrities and a magnet for celebrity wannabes for the foreseeable future.
