Why not just call it FEMA Arena, since FEMA pays all of State Farm's really expensive claims, anyway....
I'm probably just going to get lazy and call it "The Farm"

Actually, State Farm policy holders will actually have to pay an extra charge to enter, because the policy fees we pay can't actually go towards us.

You know, that kind of irks me a bit. A company like Philips which provides a tangible product you buy is one thing. But you pay money to insurance in order to help overcome large expenses related to an accident or illness. You're essentially asking them to hold your money. These claims are frequently denied because they're "too expensive" or "not covered", but millions of those dollars can go towards naming an arena? Laaaaame.

Insurance all seems like a great idea until you realize that no insurance company can stay in business unless it takes in more in premiums than it pays out in claims.

And it gets really depressing when you realize this also applies to health insurance.

Well technically they should make their money by investing those premiums

Hopefully this renaming forces MARTA into renaming that long, drawn out name for a transit station right next door. It's unwieldy and two of the landmarks won't even exist anymore (Georgia Dome and the name "Philips Arena").

Yep, that's where they make the big bucks.

They really should just shorten it to GWCC or Centennial Park District and leave it at that.

I missed the days when they didn't sell naming rights to venues and the name had a local meaning.
