I'm sort of in the back of my condo complex, so it's maybe 500ft or so to our pick up spot, all uphill (and downhill on the way back). But for some people towards the front of the community, it's like right at their doorstep.

For me at least, it's about 10-15% of the walk all the way to the CTC, with a lot of hills. So, much, much more convenient.

The CTC is really only super convenient walk for the residents of the apartment complex that is currently known as the Pointe at Vinings, and the Stonewall condos behind it. And there's NO park&ride, which is so dumb. You can sneakily park at the mall I guess, but not supposed to.

Cobb County: doing transit as cheap as possible. CTC and MTC really need P&R lots/garages with express bus service to MARTA.

I want to see this new tech tested on smaller format like Assembly Yard or North Ave shuttle from MARTA station to PCM or Tech Trolley before I am ready to jump all-in on "it's the future of transit!" We have seen the micro-transit be called the same thing, then fail.

Yes, having just moved to Cobb county, I was baffled that there aren't more bus park and rides in the metro. It wouldn't have benefited me directly as I live relatively close to work. But in the Twin Cities (where I moved from), just about every suburb had 1 or 2 park and rides with express service to downtown. Buses had their own highway on-ramps, and right of way to use highway shoulders if there was no carpool lane present. This gave an incentive to ride the bus as it could bypass traffic and maintain a somewhat consistent schedule.

I think until we build more carpool lanes and bus only access lanes, the incentive to ride the bus would be minimal. I know Atlanta also has the challenge have having so many edge city job centers (vs a majority of the jobs being in one location like downtown).

Operating buses in Managed Lanes are GDOT, SRTA, ATL, etc unofficial preferred solution to metro-wide transit. We will not be seeing metro commuter rail.

I don't know that they are planning this as micro-transit or simply as a shuttle between the station and the neighborhood with designated routes. But I agree that a small contained area such as Assembly might be one application where this could work.

These could work as Community Circulators, replacing the current 800-route bus fleet MARTA is expanding.

These 30 foot circulators, running on frequent schedules, are a critical element of FTZ.

Good move by MARTA!

maybe you should do a little research in what MARTA considers Community Circulators?
