We will be in town for a week for a volleyball tournament at the Convention Center and would like to know if there is anywhere within walking distance to grab a pint (our lodging is also located near the Convention Center). We would likely be in athletic clothes on most nights so nothing too upscale would be ideal. I'm hoping we are not limited to hanging out in the hotel lounge.

I tried searching the forums but only seem to come up with suggestions for "Things to do" for families in this area. Thanks for your help.

CNN Center is right next to the GA World Congress Center. They have a Jocks & Jills and a Mexican restaurant that serves drinks. If you want to get out of a mall type of atmosphere, I'd suggest Slice Pizza or Sidebar, which are a couple doors from each other on Poplar Street, a couple blocks north of Marietta Street on the East side of Centennial Park.

There is a British pub in CNN Center which is just adjacent to the World Congress Center:

Reggie's British Pub
CNN Center
100 Techwood Drive
404-525-1437

Not too far away, there is a Mexican restaurant that is casual too:
No Mas Cantina Mexican Restaurant Atlanta - No Mas! Cantina

If you don't have a car - it is a short cab ride.

I suggest Dailey's, near the intersection of Andrew Young International Blvd. and Peachtree St.

So far Jock & Jill's, Sidebar and Dailey's < at least during the day, all look perfect. Thank you for the suggestions!

Max Lagers over on West Peachtree would work. Good burgers and sandwiches, and a few microbrews of their own.
