It's something that some folks have to deal with if you live here. Let's put it this way - last week I had a day where I wound up taking EIGHT Benadryl pills, and even with those I could barely breath. I thought I was on Mars though by the 6th pill, so it didn't matter as much by then.

If you belong to Sam's Club (or Costco I think also has it) get their generic version of "Tylenol Sinus and Allergy" pills. For some reason the actual Tylenol brand fast-release capsules don't work as well as the slower release generics (?) but they have some effect on me for the good. Doesn't eliminate all the symptoms, but controls them by about 60% or so, plus doesn't make you nearly as foggy headed as Benadryl (although Benadryl usually works best overall).

Hey Greg be careful popping those Benadryls they can hurt your stomach lining. If you have a beard or mustache keep it trim and moist. No Joke!!! That pollen had me in bed all day Wednesday!! I got my mustache trimmed this morning and popped some Claritin. I was ok today.

Oops. If Benadryl hurts your stomach lining then I bet I don't have any more lining left after using it for oh, about three years.

My guess is the beard theory is that pollen dust (of the microscopic unseen kind) settles in and sticks to facial hair (and the head) so you can bring it indoors with you. I use damp paper towels to wipe my face hair off when I come in. I also have three dogs and each time they come in from outside I use one of those sticky lint roller things over them. Helps, but there's no real way to completely avoid it even indoors.

Are there any natural remedies that work. I don't suffer with hay fever right now but my sister does and my mother's hay fever came later on in life so I am thinking I will get it eventually especially as I suffer from mild eczema.
I hate popping pills all the time - I heard about eating honey that is produced locally i.e Georgia, as a remedy. Any others....
