Hi All,

Looking at a potential move to the US, specifically Atl GA - ive been to the US about 10 times in my life.
I wanted to get an idea of whats is referred to a low/middle/high salary range - im potentially moving as a family of 3 (wife and 8 yr old).

My wife probably wont work until we are settled in.

Thanks in advance.

For a white collar type of job (in an office setting), I would consider the low range from $35K-$55K, mid range somewhere between $55K-$75K, and high range anything over $75K per year.

Thanks for the rapid response, I guess that also depends on age, for someone who is in their mid 40's - how does that fair?

It depends on your skills and not on age - what type of job are you looking for?

According to glassdoor, A Senior ERP consultant in the Atlanta area has a salary range of $93K to $169K. For a low cost of living area such as greater Atlanta, even a salary on the low end of that scale is pretty darn good.

It depends a lot on your standard of living. Judging from your job and having kids I'd say average or "doing ok" for the Northern suburbs with good schools and a nice but not extravagant house is a household income of about $150k. You can easily be frugal and live on less.

ETA: One thing that most people in your shoes don't take into account is the HOPE/ Zell Miller scholarship and therefore not having to save as much for college. Basically, kids with a 3.0 or higher can go to a state school for close to free.
