Hello,
My wife and I along with the kids will be relocating to Atlanta in a couple months. Looking for a little advice on where to focus our house hunting. One child is 6th grade, and the other is a Freshman in HS, so excellent schools are a priority. I have a budget of $450-500K for a home.
I will be commuting to Norcross, and bonus points if my drive can be under 30 minutes each way!
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

I would personally look for a home in the North Gwinnett district. The schools there are top notch and Norcross is just a few miles down Peachtree Industrial from there.

Peachtree Corners

Gwinnett School District has an excellent reputation - I will defer to others as the best High School clusters to look in.

The Alpharetta/Milton/John's Creek area also has some of the top schools in the state. However, these areas are a little more expensive, but you could find something. Also, Alpharetta , Milton, and John'c Creek can be a long under or over thirty minutes depending on where you live in the city and the traffic.

North Gwinnett, John's Creek, South Forsyth or Lambert districts are some of the best public schools in the State and offer a convenient commute to Norcross. If you want to go further out, you can also look in Buford or Hamilton Mill (Mill Creek High).

Also, I think Norcross has a very competitive IB progam, and many people love the Parkview District in neighboring Lilburn. If you choose Peachtree Corner's/Norcross and are considering private school, Wesleyan, GAC, and Providence tend to be the top choices.
