Hi ABridges, I'm in fact considering buying a house in the Preserve. Have you heard of any incidents like break-ins inside the neighborhood, or sketchy people wandering? Is it safe for kids?

Thumbs up Boulder Walk - East Atlanta

We have lived in the Boulder Walk community for close to 6 years now. We love our little peace of heaven in the East Atlanta community. As we all know, nationwide everyone's property values have decreased, but we're still happy with our choice. It's a very diverse community and there is a strong sense of family here. You couldn't ask for a better neighboorhood watch community. The HOA strictly enforces the covenants so that everyone's properties are immaculately maintained. We have community events year round and it's been a great place to call home. As a community, we have been working extremely hard to volunteer our services and improve the McNair High. We realize the importance of a good education and are happy to promote our future leaders.

Do you still live in that subdivision. I'm considering buying there.

Understand this is not in East Atlanta (a neighborhood within City of Atlanta limits.) This is in unicorporated DeKalb County.

No we moved in 2013 because though the community is lovely, the surrounding areas showed no signs of progression. The school ratings continue to drop which again are signs of no progressive things happening on that side of Bouldercrest Rd in Dekalb County. If you live closer to East Atlanta Village it's better because it's located in Fulton Co City of Atlanta. Many of the original homeowners have moved, but I still have friends that live there so it's still an active community. Though property values are increasing, I personally would not move there especially if you have kids or ever plan to have kids. They will have to attend a private or charter school. In my opinion there just weren't enough amenities in the area and I stayed on edge with criminal activity.

East Atlanta (neighborhoodhttps://www.google.com/maps/place/Ea....3357992?hl=en) is entirely in DeKalb County, but within city limits of Atlanta. So residents get CoA amenities like APS, APD, etc.
