I will be studying to be a software engineer and i heard that many tech jobs have moved out to Alpharetta. I see that there are several MARTA bus routes servicing that area and i plan on living in Midtown. I want to avoid driving as much as possible.

Yes it is possible to ride Red Line northbound to North Springs and transfer to bus for service to Alpharetta

Technically, yes. But as for ease of access, not really, unless you have a lot of time.

It's not ideal, but some of the office parks are within walking distance to a MARTA bus stop. I would just look up the maps.

That will take almost 2 hours each way. Use google maps and select transit.

Living in midtown and working Alpharetta would not be advisable because there is no such thing as a reverse commute anymore. Coming home at 5pm would be a nightmare.

you would have to take the red line north to north springs station (maybe 30 minutes) and then take an express bus to the windward park-and-ride. past there, it's hit-or-miss whether you'll be able to get a last-mile bus connection to your job. i know that a lot of the tech companies in office parks run a jitney bus a few times a day that goes either directly to north springs or the park-and-ride. i would ask the companies you're looking at whether they have a bus service like that, it might save you a lot of time.

Not in any practical way.

It would take you way too much time as the Red line doesn't go up that far.

You can thank the racist in Alpharetta.

They refused to expand the train up to the jobs along Windward and Northpoint.

Give Alpharetta some time, it will eventually get heavy rail. Although, it would be so much better if its had it now, but oh well.
