Emory and Lenox area: What is this neighborhood called? When I was visiting Atlanta last month, I noticed this area. It has a bunch of Mexican markets and taquerias. There was also some very sketchy looking apartments with grafitti and rubbish on the property. The area was right next to Lenox, I do believe. Another thing I noticed is that once I drove across a street, I was in a very classy neighborhood with park-like settings and expensive apartments going towards the Lenox station. What part of Atlanta is that area called?

The Buford Highway Corridor.

The Buford Highway Corridor stretches through south Buckhead, south Brookhaven, parts of Ashford Park, south Chamblee, southern parts of North Atlanta.

Other posters may add more detail.

Note: the "area" between Emory and Lenox includes other neighborhoods as well...not just the Buford Highway Corridor.
