Sounds like the place that is now Hankook Taqueria. Before it was Hankook, it opened and closed so many times that the Grand Opening banner stayed up for several years.

What happened? It was trash, pure trash!

I can't tell you how much I anticipated eating Gino's again! I was so disappointed! To call it mediocre, would've been a compliment. Everything was off, from the crust, to the sauce. It was Gino's in name ONLY!

Chicago style isn't an abomination. New York style is pedestrian, and so easy to prepare, that anyone with an easy bake oven, and grocery store grade ingredients, can make one. I've seen a pizza rat curb a New York slice.

Pfft, bow to your pizza overlord. NY-style pizza is pizza in it's modern form. That other crap is just that.

It's a casserole. It's a bread bowl of cheese with sauce on top.

Does Atlanta have a Detroit style pizzaria? Y'all debating about NY vs CHI, well, New Haven is better than both. Lol.

I personally don't like crunchy Pizza, I like filling Pizza. NY never really did anything for me.

literally eating Lou Malnati's as I read this...nom nom nom.

Sorry to hear about the closing. Didn't it just open? Any decent business would have cash reserves to make it at least 6 months. Maybe the numbers were so dismal that they decided to throw in the towel early. Can't imagine how much money was lost on that deal. I think part of the problem is Atlanta is too much of a melting pot so finding enough people to pay a premium for Chicago style pie is tough in that market.

If you want a good Chicago thin crust you have an Aurelios in Marietta.
