Is Amberwood in the Oak Grove Elementary School district? I thought it was in Briarlake.

You're right. It's in Briarlake. But there are still some great ranches in the rest of Oak Grove -- but Amberwood has some killer true mid-century homes designed by Robert Green. I was in one yesterday that is amazing!

We are also relocating to Atlanta, and we're trying our best to find a home in Decatur City so we can send our dauhter to Oakhurst Elementary. It's an expeditionary learning school that sounds phenomenal to us, and it's supposedly not a "test factory" like Oak Grove. Several people have mentioned to us that Oak Grove devotes the entire month of October to test prep at Oak Grove. We're told that Oakhurst students get 30 minutes of Spanish every day and music 2 days a week. Music and arts and foreign language are important to us, so we thik we've found our school. There's lots of great historic homes as well as condos and townhouses in the Oakhurst area.

Well, Briarlake is an OK school, too.

And you're right, Amberwood is a treasure...to my horror, they tore down one of the "mid-centuries" there and built a Shingle-Style home. I hope that's an isolated incident.
