Hopefully someone can help us.

We are moving to Gwinnett County in April. My son is a gifted sixth grade student doing Florida Virtual school online. It is a great virtual school and we are looking for one in Georgia that is just like it. What we love is the flexibility of the program- he can go ahead and complete the classes in 8 weeks if he so chooses, and he can take days off (he is a travel hockey player). Their only requirement is that he has to take 6 credits per year. He is not required to take state tests or eoc's either. There is no logging hours... I do not want a school where you need to chart and log hours, or do bi-weekly phone calls with teachers. Basically, I would love to find something exactly like FLVS (Florida Virtual), if anyone has experience with both and can recommend??

Can anyone recommend an accredited virtual school with this flexibility?

Thanks so much!!

Check Georgia Connections Academy. Its supposed to be much better than the other main virtual school. There is some flexibility, but you would have to check into how much.

If you want to do private, Eaton Academy in Roswell has a program set up to handle athletes, actors and others who need maximum flexibility.

There are also a large number of national online schools. Here is a list ranking some of them:
