That commute would be a nightmare. I work in the Windy Hill/Powers Ferry area and most of my co-workers that live in Gwinnett use vanpools because of the distance and traffic. Since you are going to be at least 30-40 miles away from the office, back roads really won't help much.

If you plan to work in Cobb, trying to find a reasonably-priced home in Cobb may be your best bet.

No, I don't. There are several companies in the Windy Hill/Powers Ferry/Interstate North area.

Exactly; faced with a dog of a commute like that, I would readily be looking at

Smyrna
Kennesaw
Acworth
Marietta (which offers plenty of alternatives to Lawrenceville neighborhoods)
Woodstock
Canton

IMO any of these communities can offer you the QOL of Lawrenceville and a lot better access to your workplace.

Have you taken a look at the traffic from Windy Hill to L-ville? It'll make the commute to Canton look like a cakewalk.

From Windy Hill/Powers Ferry I can take backroads to my house in Holly Springs and be home in less than 45 minutes- try doing that if you're heading to Lawrenceville.
