I love the Target in Atlantic Station...much less crowded & cleaner than the Edgewood Target and nicer in my opinion! That neighbor must be CRAZY...very weird that she made those comments to you.

Prior to that complex being built there were a lot of locals opposed and whining about it (even though it was DESPERATELY needed). They preferred that land remain an abandoned parking lot, of no use to anyone but vagrants. I would bet money that your neighbor is one of the people who was opposed to that development and telling you to avoid it is her way of maintaining a vendetta against the place.

She probably thinks if she tells enough people to avoid it it'll go out of business and turn back into a crappy abandoned lot.

You have a bad neighbor.

Wow, thanks for all the help! Actually after talking to a few other people, I have found that my neighbor WAS one of those people you were talking about that opposed it... She is also older so maybe the "funkier" crowd initmidated her! Not sure, but its good to know that there are honest people on this board I can rely on.

Welcome again! PM me if you need any more assistance is getting settled since your neighbor is obviously not a reliable source for information

She said I could go to the new Edgewood Retail Center or Moreland Street, but she said there is a lot of crime and shootings in that shopping center because the area around it is bad. I then suggested Atlantic Station, which I had heard about before moving, and she said there was also shootings and crimes happening in that shopping center as well. She told me it was the equivalent of going to Underground Atlanta. She said my only option is Midtown. Is all this true? I have only been here 4 days and have been so busy I have not been able to see for myself, but I need to locate a target. I thought it would be easier to ask anyone on here if they have been to those places. I do not want to get shot, so please be honest!
WHAT?? Thats not a good look man. You got this lady telling you every where you go you may get shot and you just moved here?? Your only option is not Midtown bro. That is HER only option. People.....The lady is wrong. If you are new here and no one knows you, you should be fine.
