A lot of city elected officials (and congressmen) turn into tyrants after a term or two.

When you start thinking of your constituents as "subjects," that's a problem.

Citizens showed up in mass to protest this last night. One high school senior used his allotted 2 minutes to ask which council member came up with the idea, and no one admitted to it. At the end of the night, the council admitted that this ordinance was a huge mistake similar to Great Wolf Lodge, and voted it down.

Hopefully, the next time PTC makes State or National news, it will be for something positive.

This is a relief. That is hilarious that none on the council would answer the high schooler's question. What a poor example they are setting. I was under the impression that it was Mayor Fleisch's idea, or that she was at least partly responsible for it. Her best friend/attack dog was on Facebook defending it.

It's good that the council saw the light and corrected their mistake. We all are human, but some mistakes are indicative of a character flaw. The Great Wolf Lodge was another example of this. I like what the Mayor has been doing around the city but she is prone to breathtaking lapses in judgment. She is lucky there were not better candidates running for mayor.
