Should be. LA Live is a little stale and doesn’t have any retail. What makes it work is the location. There are hundreds of events onsite at Staples/Crypto.com as well as another 100 events for the on-site Microsoft Theater. And then the convention center is only 2 blocks away. If there’s nothing going on, then it’s not really a destination.

Really hoping this can take off, Downtown is wildly overdue for becoming a viable residential area. As rents in Midtown keep going exponential, we need more urban residential options. As it is now, your choices are basically Midtown or Spread-Out Leafy SFH Suburb #129101-A. I can see myself living in this place if the rents are in line with the reality of Downtown and it has decent views of the city.

Having some big markets downtown, more cafes and restaurants and it will be desirable. Would be nice if h-mart created an urban market downtown like they have in New York.

If they want an entertainment center, I wouldn't think that a Korean grocery store is the right move. Korean bbq restaurants otoh....

They need restaurants, bars/sports bars, coffee houses, nightclubs, some smaller retail, a big box or two, high end retail, and hotels. Oh, and maybe 2,000+ housing units.

https://goo.gl/maps/frQuWt8KoYRQBHq87 This is the h-mart in NYC, most of the shoppers are non-Koreans. You also have an opportunity to make a mini Korean food court inside like there are in many H-marts.

And that's not NYC's entertainment center. That's my point. When I think of entertainment centers, grocery stores are pretty far down the wish list.

Edit to add, that this is just my opinion and your opinion is equally valid. Probably more so since I don't live in Atlanta.

Yea i saw those a couple days ago. It looks awesome. Downtown is going too be completely unrecognizable soon with all that's planned. Trinity/Peters/Lee St is going to see a Memorial Dr-esque change with all the planned development from Centennial Yards to Fort Mac.

(Centennial Yards, Newport South Downtown, The Forge, West End Mall, Murphy Crossing, Ft Mac, Lee St Trail)
