I wouldn't call Sutton a flagship of the IB program.
Is Sutton suffering from being too big?

Well, my info is from speaking to current students and parents candidly and from recently touring the school (7th and 8th grade campus), albeit my comparison schools were the local privates. One student told me she knew nothing about IB, but that the teachers hung the IB posters up before the accreditors came. No kids were in the halls except to change classes--like they had no freedom to move around, a lot of substitutes who had been there for several months (unfilled positions), kids in class hanging out on their phones doing nothing. This was *on the tour*. Some kids I have talked to, boys and girls, don't feel safe. Others kids I've talked to seem to like it. After touring, it was not a risk I wanted to take for my child personally. Is it suffering from being too big? I don't know if size is the problem or what but I saw red flags.

Default Norcross

The Norcross HS district also has an IB program

What is a good area to look at with an IB MYP and great elementary school too? I prefer public schools but am not opposed to private (price being an important consideration with 3 kids).

thanks for all the info. Does anyone know what the diversity is in Sandy springs area? My kids currently go to a school that has is about 50% Asian and 40% white. Also, how good is the IB school? On paper, it looks great but we haven't had a chance to tour yet.

The schooldigger website has the best info out there for this. It says Ridgeview middle school is 48.5 Hispanic, 30.5% white, 16.5 black, 2.5 Asian. It says Riverwood High is 37.5% Hispanic, 32.2 white, 24.8 black, 3 Asian.
