Still, it would be preferable if the cops could enforce this in a less sneaky way.
I agree but its very hard. Most people put their phones down when they're near a cop and you pretty much have to look through their window and check on them every so often for the occasional texter.

It's true, but as I've learned from someone in Cobb, people aren't just looking at their phone. They're doing other things on it, like texting. Of course, breaking the law makes it easy for the cops to do that. Folk can get a $5 buck mount and use voiceless controls if the spirit catches them like this. It's a good law that unfortunately requires some sneakiness to actually ticket people with. If they do it long enough, I just wonder what the impact is on safe driving more than I do the cops pockets.

Admittedly I have Bluetooth commands in my vehicle but my microphone was installed by the driverside mirror seal (by the factory) and it is terrible when I’m driving (too much road noise enters from the seal) so I become completely incomprehensible. It’s super annoying and something I’ve been needing to deal with but I have to pull over for phone calls

Pulling over to make and receive phone calls is not a bad thing. Having lived much of my life in the pre mobile phone era, I can say that we literally did that every single time. It was literally impossible to *** or text on a tiny, distracting device. Plus you had to find a payphone.

And honestly, it wasn't bad at all. A tremendous amount of work got done, and in a timely, efficient fashion.
