opgolf wants to build a new driving range in Gwinnett.

The golf range company has been long suspected as the “golf entertainment complex” proposed for the forthcoming Exchange at Gwinnett mixed-use development. Those suspicions were confirmed when the Texas company filed permit applications with the county planning and development department on May 30.

TopGolf is great. Played last week with my kids. Also have played in Tampa as part of a corporate outing.

It’s not hugely expensive for a company outing (all things considered) but not cheap for a family activity either.

Top Golf is overrated. I’ve only gone when the company has paid for it.

When I lived in Houston some coworkers and I would go every so often. It's a good middle ground. The ones that really like to golf found it fun. Those that weren't that great at golf but just wanted to hang out and do something found it fun. A little pricey but it's cheaper at certain times.

See, now they are killing the brand. You only need 1-2 per metro area. Entertainment has a life cycle y’all. Remember all the Dave & Busters, Jillian’s, Qzars and Arcades of the 90s early millennium... They all closed but 2 that I know off .Nobody wants to have a Top Golf in every portion of the city. Keep it minimal.

I golf but am no scratch golfer. I was beaten by two of my staff in one game once - one from India and one from China, neither of whom had held a golf club before.

I live in Grayson. I don't want to fight traffic all the way to Alpharetta or Atlanta to go to a Top Golf.

It's been in the works since late last year. It's been bound to come to Gwinnett.
